One of the most important things for my company was coming together. If we were going to be successful, then everyone had to be on the same page. Since that was not really happening, the powers that be decided that the company needed to go through a team building experience to get everyone headed in the same direction. This was a powerful experience that really helped the team see eye to eye and it helped everyone understand where the other guy was coming from within the company. So what was this amazing team building experience?
We went out into the wilderness a little bit and everyone was forced to leave their comfort zone. When everyone is in their comfort zone, no one wants to expand and understand where the other guy is coming from. The best team building experience was one where we got away from our computers and go away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We all got out there in nature and had to work together in order to have a good time. Sleeping in tents, communicating with each other, and sharing stories were a part of the process. There were many things that were gained from this process.

Since we all had to communicate on a face-to-face basis without any text messages or emails, it was much easier to understand where everyone was coming from. This is something that the business had been lacking and after the team building experience, we were able to get much more done in a shorter period of time. This helped take the business to new heights, just as other team building exercises have been able to do for other companies.
